Axis of Steel – Scranton, PA – Officially CANCELLED!
Etters, PA – March 2, 2010 – Angel Marketing Group, LLC announced today that the Axis of Steel event scheduled for March 26-28, 2010 at the Riverfront Sports Complex in Scranton, PA has been cancelled due to a Fire Code conflict between the Complex and the city.
The event was said to have already attracted over $500,000 in display motorcycles and over 60% of the venue was contracted/sold to exhibitors.
“After the Riverfront Sports Complex hosted 3 annual Home Shows, Hilary Clinton and Barack Obama political rallies, as well as other events, the owner and I scheduled and started planning this Axis of Steel event,” said Eric Kropiewnicki, manager of AMG, adding “We’ve now lost thousands in advertising and expenses!”
“There was a lot of frustration regarding the very poor communication between us and the licensing and permit official, Mark Seitzinger,” Eric said. “I waited at his office for 1-1/2 hours, after being told he would see me. I had to leave before seeing him as I had another scheduled appointment. I left, with his secretary, a copy of the Occupancy Permit for the Complex, as I needed him to address the questions we had on this permit. I had to call him back a week later.”
“All of these delays won’t help us make an extraordinary event, which is what we are striving for.” Added Eric.
The event is not going to be postponed, but due to the high level of local response, AMG is working on logistics to hold an event in the Scranton area at a future date.
AMG won’t comment further, but said that they are discussing this situation with their attorneys and this may become a legal matter.
Mr. Kropiewnicki did say to watch the website for new information.
